Fake News

People are being bombarded with a lot of words in text boxes lately. I fear that we no longer hold capacity or desire to critically think through all that is being shoveled our way. People are being replaced by systems of operation that pound social media with all sorts of interesting information. I see it has trying to shovel sand out of a hole when the tide is rising. When we stop analyzing our surroundings and interacting with them as well, we lose our senses. We numb and dumb ourselves into compliance. I recently read an article stating that the two nominations for Trump towards the Nobel Peace Prize were forged. First, let’s explain the process per the article. There are groups of various folks that are eligible to nominate. Examples listed included presidents to scientists. The important thing to understand is the sanctity of the process. If I am an eligible nominator and someone forged my signature and nomination this is fraud. However, this could also be a political tactic towards the supposed fraud. Many assume Trump nominated himself. Realistically this is a possibility but it could also be an attempt at a proverbial nail in the coffin. The person who supposedly nominated him was contacted and denied the entry. Whoever did this is now being investigated by the FBI. The first nomination was placed last year but never made public. This year the committee decided to make the investigation public. This is not about political parties it is about losing trust in the process, the system. Think of each headline as a wedge between you and the body of people it represents. You take the information and simply make an opinion and distance yourself. In some cases, the information resonates with you and you bring it closer. Either way, you share the information with others. You condemn the negative and compliment the positive. At no point do you go the step further to verify the contents? That would be work. More so work you don’t get monetarily paid to do. People have been told to take those with titles and place them ahead of everyone and everything else. We have to assume they earned their education and their credentials. This is blind trust. I have a very strong opinion of people caught intentionally attempting to deceive others. The aftermath of this type of deception can rock a person to their foundation and core. When we start accepting fraudulent behaviors we punch a deep hole into our foundation. We pay a person to patch it up but don’t check their credentials. We sent in a knitter to do the job of a mason. Why? Because the knitter helped a cousin’s neighbors uncle one time by holding tools and now they are a mason.
Historically, a con man was the worse of the worse, untrustworthy to the core and now we call them clever. A voting system with flaws does make a President nor a Noble Peace Prize winner. I want to say that whoever did this needs to be publicly announced. A name to a face that we can sear into our mind for future’s to come. Les we forget. Yet, we also need to understand that we are no longer working in a bipartisan world. Everyone is attempting to make something out of themselves even from nothing. Think of your actions like throwing poison into a moving river, just because you are not being directly affected at your source does not mean you are not affecting the source. Finally, if it were YOU, would you not want to ensure that the information was accurate and credible?

Robin Medicine

I had a dream where a Robin covered in snow was presenting itself. I knew that this was like the yawn that woke up Spring.

Unexpected changes and path’s have opened and closed so much so that I feel a bit lost. I am plugging away at school. I have received two Criminal Justice related scholarships since I started. I have passed my classes and feel that I have gained some useful insight. I also feel that I have brought a new perspective to my classmates as I am old enough to have birthed more than half.

I still do not know what this degree will bring but I am learning a lot about the CJ field. One thing that stands out is my basic self taught knowledge of the justice system. I have also recognized my deep respect, interest and insight into the law side of the CJ field. As well as the psychological aspects of the CJ field. I am open to what this new knowledge base brings for the future. But, what does the Robin have to do with any of this?

It’s about finding your own. Your own anything? The thing that makes you, you. The most important part of Robin’s medicine is riding the waves of opportunity. It’s choosing to find the lighter side of a dark situation. But, it does not mean to simply ignore the dark. The following information is pulled from the internet. The photo is not mine. I am invoking the energy of Spring. Now that Pachamama has plenty of snow to melt off for water I am confident she is ready to sprout. – Lisa

UPDATE: During a moment of reflection I became aware that though it may not “look like Spring” this may be the new version of it. The idea that season’s are blending into one, globally. Think of it as more of what places are “historically known for” but with drastic outcomes. It is not too far to speculate, from a non scholarly perspective, that we could be experiencing what has historically been the catastrophes that impact and force global change. Let me kindly reminder you that just because you are not witnessing or directly affected by something does not mean that you are not experiencing the impact on a different level. This is the the epitome of being mindful. – Lisa (3/4/2019)

Express your self positively to get what you want. Let them know how you feel.-Robin

Fly Animal Medicine

Often times when the subject of Animal Totems or Animal Spirit Medicine comes up most people go for the big guns, like wolf, bear and eagle. Though these are in fact amazing animals to work with as clan or ally there is just as much significance in the smallest of allies like bugs and insects. One personal example of this is appreciating the medicine of spiders. It has taken me a very long time to look at them with reverence. I had to brace myself and slowly over come my fear of the spider. I now advocate for leaving them alone under most circumstances. This respect has blended into learning to appreciate other crawlies like centipedes but never did I think in a million years that to date the best lesson and medicine to be had came from the small in stature but big in annoyance, the FLY. To have a fly buzzing around in general is annoying to say the least, having one in a therapy space is down right unacceptable. Yet, to my dismay this pesky little buggar found its way into my shop. I was intently working on a section of my clients tissue when I caught myself crossing my eyes trying to focus on what was buzzing around in the dimly lit room. I thought to myself, no way there is a fly in here. Aerially they can actually be very stealthy, not making a peep. I telepathically cursed at it and thought I addressed it. The following day I no longer broke the threshold of the door and the little sucker is loudly buzzing and dive bombing my head. I am sure from the outside I looked like an over plump retired ninja swatting away at imaginary adversaries but this fly was persistent. As I settled in and sat down I can longer hear it but am sure it’s still around. I start working on the computer. I sense I am being stared at. I look up and fly is on the ledge of my desk just staring. It just sits there. I shoo at it. Nothing. It navigates around my swats and gracefully lands back on it’s perch.

The hair stood up on my neck and I got this jolt of energy. Shit.

I resisted as long as I could before speaking aloud. “Fly, is there something I need to know?” It starts marching on the ledge. I am alone but still side eyeing my surroundings for gawkers. I explained kindly you cannot go back into the therapy space moreso stop dive bombing my forehead. At one point I have a session and fly did in fact not come into the space. It was waiting for me on the ledge after the session. Then it started changing it’s location. At one point I did swat it out of the air and it landed on my keyboard shook off my attack and marched on. Persistent little shit. When this client was coming in I was researching fly medicine. The first few paragraphs felt like a throat punch. I am still struggling with the “what’s next for me stage?” Here is what FLY has to say about life.

Common Fly Spirit Animal Meanings

For something so light and tiny, the fly spirit animal holds so much meaning and provides so many intuitive insights about life. This is because the fly symbolism shows many great ways to understand the world and discover your purpose.

The fly is a very potent insect that’s worthy of your respect. It’s usually looked down upon because it’s associated with all things dirty, rotten, and gross.

But the fly is one tough survivor and plays a vital role in the cycle of life. It’s one of the most common insects in the world because it can survive even the harshest living conditions but still manage to feed, grow, and breed!

When the fly spirit animal makes its way into your life, this usually serves as a warning that there’s danger lurking somewhere. It means to catch your attention when you are spending too much of your time with someone or on something that has a destructive influence.

The fly meaning brings to focus to anything that’s causing harm to your life, whether of your own choosing or not. An example of this is giving in to societal pressures and indifference.

The meaning of the fly also speaks about hate, spite, malice, or blame. It buzzes to be heard and flies overhead annoyingly until you are forced to swat or kill it with anything you can get your hands on.

The fly totem has also been known to represent lies, gossip, excuses, and anything that’s dirty or impure. However, before you dismiss the fly as nothing but bad and undesirable, the fly symbolism also speaks about cures for sicknesses.

The meaning of the fly also serves as a reminder that you reap what you sow. What you put out there to the world will come back to you a hundredfold, so make sure that your actions, thoughts, and words come from a place of love and goodness.

The fly spirit animal symbolizes abundance and prosperity during times of adversity. It sends the message that by being persistent, consistent, and determined even in the face of tragedy will result to victory.

The fly signifies encouragement, because it does a very excellent job of goading you with its presence until you surrender to what it wants and let you be. It will always fasten on you, arouse you, reproach you, or persuade you, and will not be satisfied until you get on your feet and achieve what you set out to achieve.

If Your Spirit Animal is the Fly, read this carefully…

Your fly spirit animal is urging you to be ready to adapt to your current situation because there is prosperity and abundance soon to come. Keep your head up for better days are headed your way!

You can also expect something within you to change, and you will be experiencing a rebirth or a sense of newness in your life. You think you don’t need it, but once you have it, you’ll wonder how you even managed to survive in the past without it.

The meaning of the fly also encourages you to deal with your issues, whether you like it or not. Like the fly that transforms and adapts to even the harshest environments, you are being called to turn what seems like waste into something valuable.

If the Fly is your Animal Totem, Never do this…

The fly symbolism does not believe in keeping yourself boxed in. You must allow yourself to respond and decide spontaneously to certain situations, no matter how hard.

Never give up on your dreams, because staying persistent to your goals is the surest way for you to achieve them. The fly meaning reminds you to ignore what other people are saying, because at the end of the day, what you think about yourself is what truly matters.

Positive Traits of the Fly Spirit Animal

The fly spirit animal is a survivor and a master transformer. It triumphs over adversity because it never gives up and just pushes (or flies!) forward.

Rainbow Warriors & Initiations

The following is an email recalling a dream I had involving spirit. It was 2014. I am still very much seeking people to share this dream with because I believe that there is so much more it. I was told to keep telling the dream and the ears upon those that it resonates with will guide me to my teachers, mentors and tribe.

I need input on a vision and most recently a dream I had and you all are the ones I trust enough for feedback .

First the vision was that while journeying in the higher realm a woman rose out of the clay formed a body who appeared to be Native American from one perspective but Andean in another handed me a star and said the word Wachia. I have researched this word and all I can find is a Swahili verb meaning to bequeath. She had also placed horns on her head and indicated the shaman I was working with would understand. During this journey I as a white crane carried a snake to an island that had risen out of the water.
The second was a dream I had last night where I was standing and looked up to two rainbows in the sky and from between these two rainbows a snake, very large rode down on some clouds and headed towards me. I let fear get the best of me and when it was within speaking distance I hid. Within this same sleep I was given cigars as a gift from my sister to whom I do not speak to and the other incident was driving a vehicle into a pond and when I emerged from the water I was in a different place.
Rainbows can mean the triggering of an initiation which I have just been accepted and invited into Solar Brotherhood of the Intic Churincuna and will be spending most of September in Peru. I know all of you have been an initiate to enter Spirit and I am wondering if my action of hiding indicated I failed and didn’t receive my message? And how do I rectify it. Last night , I spoke to the moon and said that I was ready then had this dream of two rainbows and a snake and hid.

I have Munay-Ki initiation on Sunday with a very trusted friend. Everything Is being laid out in front of me and consciously this is as I know and want but am I missing something? Any and all feedback is welcome and appreciated. Lastly, if I’m thinking too much just say so. 🙂

In light,
Lisa
A few things never happened as I thought they would. Instead of Peru I had a back surgery the following year and ended up moving back to the Midwest. As I stated above I believe there is something to these dreams. Perhaps a folklore or indigenous story that I am not aware of. I later learned that there is a Peruvian term of Huachuma which is the term for the San Pedro plant, which I did medicine with while in the Sacred Valley. A few years after this dream I did in fact end up doing a solo retreat in New Mexico with Jose and Lena Stevens as guides. I have had several major interactions with snakes in my waking world as well.  This photo was taken in Goose Island Park near La Crosse, WI. This snake was close to 5 feet long. I felt it before I saw it and my dog very close to it before I even noticed it visually. I hear these types, what I believe is a water snake, are very aggressive. It just stopped and we locked eyes. I never felt threatened.

NutHatch Medicine

The Miwok tribe of California consider nuthatches to be medicine birds, and the Navajo say they are a symbol of old age.

Nuthatch’s Wisdom Includes: courage of the one in the face of the masses, ability to view things reversely, ability to move ideas from thought to practice, connection to woodpecker.

Those who have Nuthatch’s power usually have courage to face the masses regardless of what concerns them. They are very courageous and this enables them to get what they want in life. They are also good leaders. Good leaders have the courage to face a group of people and address them on the issues at hand. We need courage to work with other people because if we are not courageous enough some people can demoralise us and leave us very heart broken and vulnerable.

To address a group we need to be very firm and charismatic. With such traits, we would be able to gain respect from the group of people and the individuals that we address.

Those with Nuthatch power also tend to view things in a reversed manner. This can be very good or bad depending with the situation. In a case where something has advantages such people will usually realise the disadvantages and dwell on them so much. This may cause negativity in their life especially when they just see the negative side of a situation rather than the positive effects. On the other hand, they can also tend to see positive side of something that people view as so bad. They’ll be able to get the advantages of such things considered as very negative to us in life.

They have ability to put their thoughts into action. Such people usually have a dream that they work hard to realise rather than sitting down and letting things happen. They make it happen by exercising their thoughts. A dream is achieved by action not by just thinking. When we have a good idea but we never try to practice it then it will just remain as an idea to us. Someone else who is realistic enough can even steal your idea and practice it if you cannot.

Nuthatch shows up as a spirit guide when…

  • You need courage to face to face a crowd.
  • You need music to provide strength.
  • You have some fear.
  • You need to be very active.
  • To need to come to reality to achieve your dreams.

Call on Nuthatch as a spirit guide when…

  • You need to see things in another way round.
  • You need to be strong.
  • You need group recognition.
  • You need music to sooth your life.
  • You feel discouraged.

I grabbed my coffee and headed into my little space of refuge, my back yard. The breeze flowing through the Driftless area today is cool and light. First, I engaged a Mourning Dove that was sitting next to my Buddha statue just gazing at me. I stood there for a minute thinking maybe there was an injury that was keeping it from taking flight. I asked if it’s wings were hurt and it flexed them showing me that they were fine. We were inches away from each other and the Dove sat still and calm. It was not until Rox approached that the bird was not sure about the dog’s interest and decided to take flight to the top of the garage. Where it perched while staring down on my morning ceremonies. Right after, however, the energy shifted and 5 Nut Hatches surrounded me. One on the tree trunk, one to my right on a branch right above my head, two on the suet feeder and one behind me near the seed feeder. They were singing almost in unison. Just prior I had been mulling over my dreams. Bear medicine came again very strong last night. I was being singled out and in danger. People that I did not know were trying to harm me either physically or in reputation. This big massive Grizzly mama came running out of nowhere. She sheltered me from them and moved me like a cub out of harms way. The energy, smell and feel of being lifted and relocated stayed with me into my waking state. When I first got outside I noticed baby fireflies everywhere on our outside table. The Nut Hatches though gave me the most insight in my waking state which is why I am focusing on their medicine for today. Sometimes it is not easy being the single voice of reason or thought. Sometimes it take courage and a sense of worth to understand that you don’t have to agree with the masses. I don’t feel like I fit in much among my peers and colleagues. I am currently feeling discouraged wondering if I am making the right personal and professional choices. When something is introduced to an already established environment the adaption can go two ways. Smooth or rebutted. Smooth when most of the other occupants are at peace with their own worth and duties. They know that their most authentic self and purpose attracts those that resonate with them. Then there are the ones that causes rifts by trying to Bogart an area of focus. This speaks volumes not to quality of purpose or product but the quantity and monetary gain they are interested in. When these environments become overcrowded, to me, is the most important tool for success. It means that you have to stay actively involved and engaged in your participants. Your products, if worthy and genuine, will not have to have grandiose representation that speaks loudly, it can be a whisper because that is all that is needed. Nut Hatch also reminded me that I am a great ponderer and my imaginative state is admirable but my ability to put it to working order needs some assistance. So, that is what I am focusing on, the completion phase.

Turtle Medicine

All Photos taken by Village Keep

The following information has been pulled from various sources via the internet. After, the break is my own personal perspective of Turtle and its medicine.

The turtle and ancient wisdom of the Earth

The American continent is referred to as “Turtle Island” in the Native American folklore. It is said that the Turtle carried the weight of the land of that continent on her back. This image is also present in Hindu and Chinese cultures, where the turtle is the animal carrying Mother Earth  and holding the world in balance.

Having the turtle as totem means that you have an affinity with the ancient wisdom of the earth. You are naturally tuned into the elements, land, plants, people and animals. You carry your home on your back figuratively speaking and feel at ease wherever you are.

The turtle totem and determination

The wisdom of the turtle totem teaches us about determination and staying strong despite obstacles or distractions. This animal encourages those who have it as totem to listen deeply to their guidance and trust their path no matter what.

It is a great helper for those who need to provide a steady effort and persistence. You can call on the wisdom of the turtle when you need help to sustain your efforts and succeed in a long-lasting endeavor. By analogy with the biological attributes of this animal characterized by a long life, this spirit animal is also associated with longevity.

If you have the turtle as spirit animal, you may be inclined to base your decisions on a deliberate process of reviews and considerations. It may sometimes take you longer than most to make your move, but the results tend to be long-lasting and solid.

The turtle and the way of peace

The turtle represents the way of peace – whether it’s external or internal. It is considered as the Peace-Maker in Native American traditions. This animal is also often associated with the feminine principle or feminine energy, which foster peace and harmony with all things.

Being inspired by the wisdom of the turtle totem, you can slow down when you feel you are getting overwhelmed by a situation or emotions and rest to gain a more grounded perspective. This spirit guide can assist you in taking time for yourself to better integrate all the aspects of a given situation or issue.

Dreaming About Turtles

Turtles are known for taking it slow……real slow! If turtle shows up in your dreams, it may be telling you it’s time to slow down for a while. Are you moving too fast? Pushing too hard?

The turtle also has a hard shell that it retreats into when presented with danger. If your dream turtle is hiding in its shell, it could be a warning that danger is approaching. However it could also be a message about coming out of your shell. In what ways have you been hiding? It may very well be time for you to come out and share your gifts with the world!

Do you feel impatient?

Are you trying to rush plans or dreams along?  This spirit understands that it takes time to accomplish its goals.  When sea turtles reproduce they must swim to the sandy shores where they were hatched, once there they dig massive burrows where they lay their eggs, afterwards they cover the eggs with sand and debris.  Once the eggs are laid and covered the turtles leave – trusting their hard work will result in the next generation.  If you’ve done your part trust in the process.

Has your world been turned upside down?

Are you struggling to find “normal”?  If a turtle happens to be flipped over onto its rounded shell it can be difficult or even impossible for it to turn over.  If you’re in a position where you feel like you’re flipped over slow down and take care to try and right yourself.  It may take time and strenuous energy – spend time in meditation to find where you went wrong – seek connection with the earth to help you become grounded again.

Are you dealing with emotional wounds?

While a turtles rounded shell is tough and as strong as armor on the inside turtles are delicate.  Turtle spirit people appear to have an impenetrable shell when in reality they can be emotional and sensitive.  The turtle totem is telling you to take care of your delicate self inside of the shell.

Have you reached a point in life where you feel exhausted?

In the wild sea turtles travel great distances for food, mating and egg laying.  If you’ve reached the point of complete exhaustion the turtle totem is telling you to slow down.  Yes, life is a great journey and you have a lot of responsibilities – the turtle understands this and instead of giving up in its wisdom it paces itself.  It also utilizes strong currents to help conserve energy.  Try pacing yourself and seek currents or natural rhythms in life to help carry you to your destinations.

_________________________________________________________________________________________________________

I believe that Turtle has presented itself because I am at place where I need to remember to ground. I need to appreciate patience and meditate more. That I need to call upon my spirit guides, ancestors and allies. I need to slow down and listen.  When a person is open to being assisted by Pachamama and her allies and with humility asks for them to appear and assist, they will. Be open and find gratitude in everything you do.

Salutations

For the ones that have been following the site I apologize for the abrupt shut down of the Village keep. It was not an error on my end and though I have to start from scratch, I am looking forward to getting TVK back up and running. So, thank you for your continued support.
